Large miniature of a gent in profile, identified as a member of the Clerk of Penicuick family.  He is wearing a powdered wig en queue, red jacked with gold braid and a white stock.  Enamel on copper signed on the obverse by Gervase Spencer 1765. Original gold frame engraved with the Penicuick family crest on the reverse.
