Unusual bonbonniere/box, the white ground base painted with polychrome floral sprigs. The repoussed lid has depictions from the hunt: a bugle, powder flask, a hare and a pistol with a banner entwined saying `A La Chasse Amoureuse` loosely translated as `To Beloved Hunting`. Bilston C1770.
