Charming miniature enamel snuff box, the turquoise-ground is embellished with raised gold swags.  The base has white-ground vignettes hand painted with floral depictions, the lid is an over-painted transfer print of a bird , basket and fruits by Robert Hancock.  The hinged lid opens to reveal an internal mercury-gilded copper lid to keep the snuff fresh.  The white enamel base has the words printed; `Emparez mon coueur` .  Bilston C1770.
