Large Paris porcelain octagonal scent, the obverse hand-painted with figures in a landscape. The reverse is apple-green with a central white shield with the motto 'Gage d'une amitie durable'. Gold leaf and maroon borders with white beaded edging. Silver-gilt screw on lid with French discharge mark C1840.
