Very unusual white-ground enamel faux montre patch box. It is decorated front and back around the edge with oak leaves and acorns, surrounding a hand-painted portrait of a ruby spaniel seated on a pink cushion. The watch hinges open to reveal the enamel dial and swivelling hands and this in turn opens to reveal the internal polished steel mirror and compartment to store the patches. Bilston C1770.
