Pair of miniatures of Robert Kelso (1844-1871) with fair hair wearing a red, blue and green tartan shawl over his green top and Conard Barrington Purvis Kelso (1842-1923) set before a mountain background wearing a green and blue tartan. Watercolour on ivory signed in pencil on the reverse backing card; 'Painted by John Watson June 1848'. Gilt metal frames with engraved gilt inner slips. NB: Daphne Foskett refers to a Master Kelso, eldest son of Captain Kelso of Horkerly Park by JohnWatson.
