An extremely rare cobalt enamel patch box. The lid has a hand-painted scene of a man moments before execution, lying prostrate beneath a guillotine with a basket to catch his severed head below. He is accompanied by the executioner and 2 other gents. Cobalt border with raised white dot decoration. Bilston C1789. Original internal mirror.
