Charming miniature of a child wearing a plum-coloured outfit with white shirt beneath and a large black hat on his long fair hair. In one hand he is holding a piece of fruit, in the other the end of his sack, slung over his shoulder. Watercolour on ivory attributed to Nixon C1785. Gilt frame with glazed locks of hair set on silk on the reverse. Original silk-lined red Morocco leather travelling case.
