Papier mache snuff box made to simulate tortoiseshell. The lid is set with a gold mounted miniature of Frederick the Great on horseback behind convex glass.  It is hand painted in oil on a piece of mother of pearl and is applied with gold and silver wire decoration.  Gilt metal hinged mounts.  Continental C1790.
