Unusual mother of pearl panelled etui  shaped as a knife-box.  The engraved silver mounts hinge open to reveal its internal contents: ivory aide memoire and silver pencil, 2 clear glass faceted scents and stoppers with silver collars, silver snuff spoon, bodkin, combined steel tweezers and file and mother of pearl handled folding knife.  The inside of the lid has its original mirror and red velvet lining with silver braid trim.  English C1765.
