Unusual vernis Martin scent case, the orange and green ground is hand painted on one side with spaniels, a cat and a bird , the reverse with a dog hunting a grouse in thickets. The base has rabbits and the top has a bird in flight. The engraved silver mounts hinge open to reveal the etui's contents; 2 faceted glass bottles with silver lids which unscrew to reveal their internal glass stoppers and a silver funnel. French decharge marks C1785.
