Colourful miniature of an officer wearing a red tunic with blue and gold braided facings and collar, a black stock and white cravat.  His white cross belt bears the number 17 for his regiment.  Watercolour on ivory by Frederick Buck C1795.  Original gold frame , the reverse with glazed central panel set with initials of seed pearls on plaited hair with blue glass border.
