Enamel Posy

Very rare enamel posy holder, the pink ground is decorated with raised white decoration and the central white vignette is hand-decorated with polychrome flowers. The border is raised gilded swags. It is mounted with a gilded-metal rim with a hook attached to the reverse which would have been hung on a dress or perhaps a carriage. Beneath the rim are pierced holes, the edges decorated with gold leaf. Bilston C1770.
