Boy in Red Jacket

Charming portrait of a boy known as Jean Phillipe Collos with auburn hair, wearing a red jacket with white lace collar and sash, holding a portrait miniature. He is set before a dark landscape. Watercolour on ivory, Continental C1775. Gilt metal frame with glazed ivory panel reverse decorated with very fine hairwork of flowers and bow with the sitter`s initials, `JC` in the centre.

Condition: The ivory and hair panel on the reverse has a vertical crack going from top to bottom on the left side
