Very rare sky bvlue base enamel patch box. The white ground lid has and over-coloured transfer print of Napoleon Bonapart facing right in profile, with his surname written in 2 parts on each edge. Bilston C1800. Original internal mirror. NB: It is very uncommon for English manufacturers to make a box of the enemy that the Britih were engaged in battle with at the time. There are many patriotic enamel boxes which are anti-French and a few depicting Napoleon but in a satirical capacity only.
