Colourful miniature of an officer facing front with powdered hair en queue.  He is wearing a red coat with silver braid and buttons and a silver epaulet with a black stock tied at his neck with white chemise.  Watercolour on ivory by Frederick Buck C1790.  Original gold frame, the reverse with central glazed plaited hair set with pearl initials and blue glass surround.
