Rectangular miniature of a handsome young officer with dark curly hair facing front, wearing a red army uniform with gold braiding and epaulettes and black stock.  Watercolour on ivory, signed on the obverse with artist's initails, by John Cox Dilman Engleheart 1820.  Glazed gilded metal frame, the reverse with artist's details.
