Copper gilt etui set with 4 bloodstone panels. It hinges open to reveal its internal contents: bodkin, pencil, scissors, ivory writing tablet and folding fruit knife. It is attached to its matching chatelaine with bloodstone inserts and a repousse seated cherub beneath. There are 2 hanging adjuncts which hinge open and were probably used as vinaigrettes. This is housed in its original leather-covered box with black velvet and silk lining. English C1765.
