Rare enamel large snuff box in the form of a watch. The reverse has a hand-painted portrait of a lady wearing an orange dress with floral corsage and a cap on her head with gilded raised swag border. The front is painted as a watch dial with the time set at 23 minutes past 12. This has a turquoise border with raised white dots and 3 differing floral vignettes on white ground. Ornate copper gilt mounts, the watch dial hinged to open. Birmingham C1765.
